Dear Readers,
I want to express my appreciation to every person who chooses to embark on this journey with me. It’s important to explain that the potential triggers/content within my writing are not simply for shock value, and please remember this is a work of fiction.
I create fiction to reflect experiences I have either personally lived through and can identify with or have helped patients and clients recover from. The situations in my books are not to be taken literally, but are meant to reflect the grief, pain, love, and long list of emotions experienced during our journey through this vast human experience. In my twenty-plus years within the medical world, I have worked with people from many walks of life and the one constant is—that we all suffer in some form or another; it is inevitable. Yet I have seen people overcome time and time again.
My life’s mission since late childhood has been to give a voice to the things that hide within the darkness, the things no one wants to look at or talk about because they cause discomfort. I believe writing is one place we can pour out our “blood,” turning it into a healing “ink” for ourselves and others. Our imaginations can be an amazing place to allow healing and the completion of the trauma response.
Reading fiction makes room for the growth of empathy and compassion, not just for others but also for ourselves.
I hope as you turn the pages of anything I have written (or works by other authors), you feel inspired to look into the darkness and know you are not alone—you are loved, and you can overcome; for where there are shadows, there must be light.
Wishing You Love in All Things,
