Welcome to The Peace Alchemist! Let me introduce myself!
The best place to start is with who am I… This question is always a tricky one because I feel in our society the first things we list is our occupation which is not truly WHO WE ARE, it is what we do…. Now if you are in a profession you love and it is fulfilling for you then your occupation can be a reflection of who you are, but sadly too many of us are in an occupation out of necessity and not desire… that being said does our occupations truly tell those around us who we are?
In same cases like me for example people will gravitate towards an occupation that is fulfilling to who they are within…. At the young age of 14 I became a peer councilor… I supported those classmates who were victim of abuse, rape, and traumatic experiences. I landed in this role because I myself had been exposed to lots of traumas, but thankful I saw the light on the other side…. I did suffer from Complex PTSD but I was determined to understand how this condition worked and how I could over come it (hmmmmm future blog perhaps!?!).
At the age of 17 I began to work with Autistic children and I continued to do so as I completed my nursing program. Fast forward through a decade of practicing as a nurse and I realized and discovered the power of wellness. Now today after 20 years of nursing which morphed into being a life coach, a nutrition consultant, a yoga instructor, reiki master, and an entrepreneur I feel I understand so much more about wellness and the concept of wholeness (Again.… future blogs!).
The lessons learned through the pain within my lifetime is what I would like to share. I was once told the best quality in a life coach is a person who has truly lived in the world, who has lived in all of its beauty and challenges. I am qualified to support others in managing the world around them for this very reason. Life is hard, hurtful at times, but my goal is to help my readers to see the beauty within the struggle, the gifts that are born from painful experiences, and how to become your own PEACE ALCHEMIST.
So back to the question at hand… Who am I? Well my best answer with the limited language we have to explain the inner workings of our hearts and souls is I am a person just like you. Who has suffered, who has grieved, who wants to be seen, heard, and loved; who craves being valued. A person who has laughed and cried, and has found the blessings all around me and the true beauty of my fellow human beings in everyday life. I am a person with a goal to help all I can to see the same appreciation of this world and all those that inhabit it in their own unique and colorful way. Through life I have learned to take the pain, the suffering, and transform it into hope and love for myself and all those around me…. This ability to create such transformations is why I AM THE PEACE ALCHEMIST! :)
